VIRTUES AND VICES
Maybe it has been more years than you can count -- how long has it been since you have studied the Catechism?
For instance, do you know how often you are obligated to go to confession?
Please do not offend the Lord, by receiving Holy Communion without penance, without going to confession.
You are obligated to go to confession once a year. It is recommended that you go once a month. If necessary go weekly, or every other week, because the graces you receive will help you to be "made worthy" of the promises of Christ.... In the confessional, you will find the graces you need to be converted in the deepest parts of your heart and life.
Consider also, that to receive Holy Communion unworthily, can be a terrible condemnation for you someday. The Eucharist is real, the promises are real, and the call we are given as Catholic Christians is a very serious call.
The long lines at Mass for receiving communion, do not even come close the small lines at the confessional. I can hear you protest already, but my dear brothers and sisters, please consider this more seriously!
